Flight to safety, US bonds bid up HUGE, while money leaves the US simultaneously, that's new.
Int'l bonds (but China, and they don't count) have similar moves, but not as big (I initially thought it was, but Chat correctly reminded me that a .1% absolute drop in yield is a lot smaller on a 5% rate than it is on a 3% rate)
And EU equities are largely up. So where's the money for all this coming from? The only real losses funding this huge move is Japan/South Korea equities and tech, which got a bullet in the thigh last night. Everything else, even US non-tech, is pretty much fine. QQQ is down big while the Russell is flat for once. Korea is basically SamSung and Hynix (memory/tech)
And Japan... (insert Google search here cause idk shit about Japan) ... heavy tech.
I would also point out that Apple is still managing to set an all-time high today despite the hardcore selloff. The one megacap tech that isn't balls deep in AI. That would point to this not just being a rotation out of tech entirely... it looks like a selloff of AI, specifically.
Full blown sector rotation, beyond a shadow of a doubt. Question is, is this a standard one, or the big one?
